There’s this rush of pure joy I get when I see Columbus, my home, constantly evolving and flourishing. Amidst this ever-changing cityscape, there’s one place that’s really captured my heart – the stunning rooftop bar perched on Hotel Indigo, our very own @eighteen85rooftop!
In the good old days of exploring different cities, I’d always be on the lookout for rooftop bars, getting lost in the breathtaking views and unique vibes of each one, from San Diego and Toronto to New York and Savannah. Always, I’d find myself wishing for the same sort of spot in Columbus. Guess what? Now the dream’s come true for real!
I’ve been to 1885 a bunch of times now and guys, it’s consistently awesome, every single time. It’s just got it all. Bold, stylish design, a cool, laid-back feel, and the option to chill on the rooftop patio or inside in a really relaxed, cosy space – the choice is yours.
And the view! Guys, it’s out of this world. Grab an ice-cold drink, settle in, and let the amazing scenery wash over you. It’s a total must-see.
Recently, I noticed a few nifty changes around the place. No extreme makeover, just some subtle tweaks and enhancements that have given a real lift to the overall mood of the bar. Seriously, you’ve got to check it out.
Alright, onto my favorite part – the FOOD! I can tell you this now, the food here has never once let me down. Each dish is a testament to the effort, skill, and passion that goes into it.
During my recent visit, the menu stars were the mouthwatering BBQ Nachos, delicious BBQ chicken tacos, and of course, the yummy Steak & Frites!
The BBQ Nachos were a meal in their own right – loaded up with Pulled Pork, Queso, and Slaw, it’s a generous sharing portion. The pork: so tasty, juicy, and packed with flavor. The BBQ sauce: just the right amount of smokey with a little hit of spice. The chips: perfectly crunchy, and the queso was a delight itself, light yet cheesy.
Next up, the BBQ Chicken Tacos – absolutely yum! Think three generously filled tacos with ingredients similar to the nachos, but with a twist – the pimento cheese. Not usually a fan, but wow, it really lifted the dish to a whole new level!
Lastly, we gave the steak & frites a go – an unassuming dish that really delivers on flavor. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth good. The fries? Fried to perfection. The final flourish was a light chimichurri sauce which tied it all together beautifully. So good!
And no way could I skip their signature RiverBreeze cocktail! It’s a gorgeous juice-based blend with tropical coconut rum & amaretto. Hands down, my best-loved cocktail on their menu!
Eighteen is your must-go-to place, whether you’re up for a fine drink, a tasty meal, or just hanging out with your buddies. The stunning view and vibrant atmosphere just add to the overall amazing experience. Be sure to pop in! 😍
